Vistabule has long been one of my favorite teardrop designs. I enjoy the big windows, the ability to change the bed into a couch and work or use as a living space in bad weather. I also like the sleek design.
Here is Vistabule mission statement:
Vistabule is a small, family-owned and operated business. Our team is focused on delivering a special end-to-end experience to our customers. This everyday mission is evident in the beautiful design, exceptional craftsmanship and perhaps most importantly, the highly-personalized, friendly approach we bring to every customer interaction.
This year 2024 and just recently Vistabule introduced a new model called the Daytripper.
This is a smaller, simpler design and a bit more affordable too.
In recent posts I’ve been featuring some extremely basic tiny houses and the Daytripper fits right into that category.
The Daytripper is about as small as you could go with a trailer. It’s basically a sleeping space on wheels. I do believe though that one person could live in this full time and travel or stay put in one area and live fairly comfortably.
I would want to add an external tent either attached to the back opening or out one of the side doors. That way you could easily have a changing room and/or bathroom attached to the Daytripper.
The Daytripper compared to the flagship model looses the kitchen galley and the bed no longer converts into a seat. However it looks like you can still sit up inside and work with a laptop just by leaning against the back forward section of the Daytripper.
The body length is two feet shorter than the original Vistabule.
The rest of the dimensions are the same. The weight drops substantially from 1420 pounds to 900 pounds. This opens it up to being pulled by just about any vehicle.
With the removal of the kitchen galley the rear hatch entry is special in its own way. Secured inside with two sturdy hook latches, the hatch is easily pushed open with your foot or hands.
This opens up the teardrop like an outside porch and brings in the outside world almost instantly. It also makes it easy to hop into bed at the end of a long day.
The Daytripper price starts at $14,995, not exactly cheap but compared to the original which Vistable starting at $23,995 it is quite a savings.
